There are many ways that you can use to create and set up your own website including coding your site yourself in notepad with html, css, etc.
Secondly you may employ someone to create and manage your site for you if you are creating a business website and this can be a costly exercise but can pay off in the long term.
Thirdly you can use a cms - content management system like joomla or Typo3 to create your website. This allows people who don't have much coding knowledge to be able to add content to their site quickly and easily meaning the site is more manageable.
Lastly you could use a free web hosting service that allows you to use a gui - graphical user interface to create your pages or you could use a WYSIWYG - what you see is what you get editor such as Dreamweaver.
Later I will create tutorials that detail some of these methods further.
